Oh YES! That will be a GREAT SPOT!! I sure do wish I had a tractor! I was so worn out after using that tiller for past two days that I was even on-line looking for SOME kind of machine (short of a tractor) - something like a big BIG mower or ... or just SOMETHING - lol) that'll mow AND till. After I dreamed of how nice it would be to actually own such a machine or an "tiller attachment" for your "ATV" (which I don't have) I went back outside and cranked that loud, VERY HEAVY tiller back up and did one last row and called it a day! :)

I HAVE to find an easier softer way next year LOL!

Have a great day and have fun in your new garden spot!! Isn't it exciting!

I am actually going in to work a bit later so I can be here when the tractor guy gets here. The area is in full sunlight about 80% of the time; flat; out of range of the tree roots and generally seems to be a good spot.

Of course, yesterday, I went and bought all sorts of seeds and pots to start indoors (tomatoes and onion sets I will buy) and am getting ready for a fantastic garden experience. I will be happy if it feeds us for the summer, but am hopeful that I have an abundance and can learn how to can / preserve whole, non genetically altered (no hybrid seeds here) safe foods. I hope- as the season progresses - you will help with the anecdotal information that I can't find in a book or onlne- you know- the stuff that REALLY works!

12 ft X 24 ft.
The plow guy told me that was a good size for a first time REAL garden (he could have told me to plow bigger and I would have).

I'm so far behind on my emails! Enjoying catching up this morning!

"I have a plot I have a plot Whoooo Hooooo" is SO right! LOL! It's great to see the plot! And it's really WhooooHooooo when you finally see the ground breaking where the seed are pushing up!

"WhoooHooooo the seed are doing push-ups!" (I'm watching too!) The first I usually see are the onion sets. And I love seeing em come up! (get excited over onion sets??) hehehe

I planted onion seeds (man- those are tiny!) and they are coming up a little.

It is going to be a beautiful day, so I think I will go and rake my rows and mark off where everything will go.

I have a plot I have a plot....lol.

Gotta love Mom Nature (and working in conjuntion with her whims and whimsy's)
